My Pennsylvania plant correspondent…AKA my mother, sent these beautiful pictures from the 2012 International Orchid Show at Longwood Gardens and I have to share them with all of you. The conservatories are decked out with orchids as well as other forced flowers including Bromeliads, Amaryllis, Cyclamen and Bird of Paradise to name a few. Arches formed from ferns and Phalaenopsis are focal points of the display while spheres of Moth Orchids hang from the glass ceiling. Dancing Lady Orchids gracefully complement waterfalls within the glass houses. What a delightful treat in February! The show, sponsored by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Orchid Society, runs through March 25 (as previously posted).
